My Priorities
Florida families deserve a government that works for them—not one that puts corporate profits, political power, or special interests first. These are the issues I’ll fight for in the Florida Senate.
Working
Families
Working families, retirees, veterans, and young people are being crushed by rising costs.

I will fight for fair and livable wages, good-paying jobs, and economic policies that put working families first, not corporate special interests.
We must stop union-busting bills and instead strengthen our unions and protect workers from greedy corporations and politicians. Workers deserve a voice, fair wages, and the opportunity to build a secure future.
Affordability
The dream of homeownership is slipping away from too many people in Florida and across the country.

I will push for policies that help make housing affordable, protect renters, and help families and retirees stay rooted in the communities they love.
We must also make builders and corporations pay their fair share for infrastructure. Growth must pay for growth. We need to fix the neighborhoods that have been negatively impacted by overdevelopment.

And property insurance has not been “fixed.” Too many dollars are leaving the pockets of Floridians and going into the pockets of corporations making record profits.
Education
Our public education system has been underfunded and slowly dismantled for most of the last 30 years.

Privatizing education has been the goal of those in Tallahassee. This must be stopped.

We are 50th in the nation in teacher pay, but 6th in cost of living. Teachers continue to be physically abused by students and threatened by administrators.

The voucher system supports schools that can refuse any child, have almost no accountability for whether students are learning, and have no regulated security requirements, yet they continue using our tax dollars.
Our children deserve what Article IX, Section 1 of our Constitution guarantees: a uniform, safe, secure, and high-quality system of free public schools that allows all students to obtain a high-quality education.

PEOPLE SHOULD COME BEFORE PROFITS.
THAT SHOULDN’T BE A RADICAL IDEA.
Protecting Our Environment
Florida’s beaches, rivers, springs, lakes, and natural spaces are part of what makes our state so special.

I believe we have a responsibility to protect these resources from pollution, overdevelopment, and decisions that prioritize short-term profits over our communities.

We must protect our rural boundaries, our conservation lands, and our aquifer for generations to come.

Renewable energy subsidies can incentivize homeowners and businesses to invest in solar power. I have had solar on my home for many years.

Protecting Florida also means protecting our animals and their habitats. We must strengthen safeguards for animals and the natural spaces they rely on to survive, and hold those who harm or exploit animals accountable.
Healthcare
No family should have to choose between paying for medicine and putting food on the table.

ACA subsidies must be returned. Healthcare is a right of all people, not just the rich.

Medicaid must be expanded, and we must study new ways to bring down the costs of quality healthcare for everyone.

Pharmaceutical companies are ripping off our most vulnerable, retirees, young people, and all those struggling to make ends meet.
Safer Communities
Everyone deserves to be safe and feel secure in their homes and neighborhoods.

Investing in first responders and law enforcement helps them protect our communities.

At the same time, we must hold law enforcement to a high standard and push for more de-escalation training and accountability.
We can support those who protect our communities while also making sure they are held to the standards our communities deserve.

OUR RIGHTS, OUR COMMUNITIES, AND OUR FUTURE ARE WORTH FIGHTING FOR.
Rights & Freedoms
I believe government should protect our freedoms, not take them away. I will defend the rights of every Floridian.

Women must have the right to choose their own healthcare. Our LGBTQ+ communities must have every right afforded to everyone, including where they live, what schools they attend, the opportunity to pursue good jobs, and who they choose to love.

Voting must be protected from those trying to undermine our elections.
Civil rights and our fundamental freedoms must be protected. Our state can restore those rights to our citizens and be a leader to the nation.
Data Centers
Large-load data centers can place significant demands on local energy, water, and infrastructure.

Residents will deal with noise pollution and water shortages. Our fragile aquifer cannot handle unlimited demands.

I oppose data centers and unchecked expansion that benefits major corporations while leaving nearby residents to deal with the environmental and financial consequences.
