Judy Ngying is a public school teacher, mother, grandmother, labor leader, organizer, and advocate who has called Deltona home since 1997.
Judy is in her 29th year as a public school teacher. She is also a mother, grandmother, labor union leader, organizer, and longtime advocate for working families.
After moving to Florida in 1997, Judy made Deltona her home. In 2001, while teaching chemistry at Pine Ridge High School, she met Sean. Two years later, they were married.
Judy was part of the opening team at University High School in Orange City before leaving the district after defending her fellow teachers against contract violations and retaliation. She found a new home in Seminole County Schools, where she has continued her career ever since.
Today, Judy teaches science at a public alternative school serving children who have been expelled or adjudicated by the courts.
She believes every child deserves a chance.
Regardless of their ZIP code or past, every child deserves what the Florida Constitution promises: a safe, secure, uniform, free, high-quality public education.
A Proud Grammy
Judy is the proud grandmother of two young boys, both diagnosed with learning disabilities.
Their diagnoses don't define them. Judy sees every day how creative, curious, and eager to learn they are—and she believes every child deserves that same opportunity to thrive.
One of Judy's greatest joys is cooking for her family and spending time with the people she loves.
